Renew my residence permit

Renewals are handled entirely on AIMA's own portal — there's no checklist we can run for you. Which portal you use depends on your permit and its expiry date (as of June 2026 — confirm the current windows on AIMA's site).

1. Golden Visa / investment (ARI) permits

   Expired since 22 February 2020 (and up to 31 October 2026): renew on AIMA's new Portal.

2. Other permits expiring 1 Jul 2025 – 31 Oct 2026

   Use AIMA's new Portal.

3. Other permits expired 22 Feb 2020 – 30 Jun 2025

   Use the services.aima.gov.pt platform.

4. Permits expiring after 31 Oct 2026

   The Portal isn't open for these yet — wait for it to open in the following months.
